Did you know that cortisol levels which can become elevated with stress can lead to belly fat? Storing weight in your middle is common with poor diet and elevated stress. There are contributing foods to this factor as well and there are some common choices that people make on the go. We look at which is better for you in those rushed situations, but, also please see a much better for you recipe for muffins below! Ideally you would want to making your own muffins with healthy ingredients!
Grain Free Apple Cinnamon Muffins!
1 cup unsweetened applesauce or either peeled, deseeded and blended apples ( 2 small to 3 total)
½ cup coconut flour or almond flour
2-3 TBSP cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla (optional)
¼ cup coconut oil melted
2 TBSP honey or 1 TBSP xylitol
Preheat the oven to around 400 degrees F.
Grease a muffin pans with coconut oil or line with parchment paper liners.
Pour your applesauce, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and baking soda into a bowl and stir to combine.
Then add your vanilla extract and melt your coconut oil and mix again. Finally with either a hand mixer or wooden spoon until fully combined. Spoon into muffin tins and then bake for 10 to 20 minutes, they will start to brown on top when done!
