On the 10th day of Christmas we share with you… A recipe for a Spicy Chai Steamer. A perfect way to Warm Up this Holiday Season! ( Since you have not been gifted your fleece onesie yet)

Spice things up this season with the Spicy Chai Steamer!

Spice Bouquet

Chai tea spices together can be anti-inflammatory, can aid in digestion (ginger and peppercorns) as wells black tea has anti-oxidants!

Spicy Chai Steamer

Ingredients:
2 cups water
3 black tea bags (optional)

Make a spice bouquet with the following spices (See Below on how to Make a Spice Bouquet):
2 cinnamon sticks
1 whole nutmeg
2 cardamom pods
5 whole cloves
3 whole black peppercorns
1 tbsp fresh ginger root, coarsely chopped
1-2 tbsp coconut sugar or a tiny dash of Stevia
2 1/2 cups coconut milk (Mmmm!)

Directions:
Combine the water, tea bags, and spice bouquet in a medium sized pot and bring to a boil. Boil for five minutes. Remove from heat, cover, and let sit for an additional 5 minutes.
Remove lid and add sugar and milk. Return to heat until the milk begins to lightly simmer. Immediately remove from heat. Remove spice bouquet and its ready to serve!
Sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy!

How to make a Spice Bouquet:

Cut a double layer of cheesecloth into 12 pieces, each 2 inches by 3 inches. Break each cinnamon stick into 2 pieces. Add other desired spices. Form a small pouch and try cooking string around the bouquet to secure. Add to apple cider or teas for an added punch of flavour through the season.
